Suibin Fm
Type Locality and Naming
It was named by the No. 110 Party of the Northeast China-Inner Mongolian Coal Company in 1992. The naming section is located at about 10 km east of the Shuibin Farm of Suibin County, Heilongjiang Province.
Synonym: (绥滨组)
Lithology and Thickness
It is composed mainly of grey-white medium-, and fine-grained sandstones intercalated with dark-grey siltstone, with a maximum thickness being of 263 m.
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
Its basal part is in an unconformable contact with the underlying late Permian sandstone or the Proterozoic granite. However, regionally, the next older unit is the late Triassic Nanshuangyashan Fm of tuff and tuffaceous sandstone.
Upper contact
Regionally, the schematic strat column indicates the next younger unit as Dongrong Fm
Regional extent
The formation belongs to marine clastic deposits of an early-stage marine invasion, with its distribution being restricted to the Puyang Depression of Suibin County, and with a thickness of about 90-270 m.

Fossils
It yields bivalve fossils as represented by Filosina subovalis, Palaconucula makitoensis and Nuculana aff. roederi.
